The West Virginia State Moose Association held its Heart of the Community Event. Diaper bags full of baby wipes, formula, diapers, and other essentials were donated in support of the Scott’s Run Settlement House. Also, blessing bags were full of toiletries, non-perishable food items, and cold weather items to be donated at the Bartlett House.
Depending on Be the Change Founder Tara Brooks, over 1,000 bags were donated, and with every bag there was a card with words of encouragement written by the Morgantown High School Key Club.
“This is just overwhelming. Just since December I have been able to talk to and I met with the Executive Director of the Coalition on Homelessness the other day, and just actually starting to move forward on how I can continue to be the change in Morgantown and throughout the state. Therefore we have a positive place in the world,” Brooks said.
Besides, Brooks plans to continue to give back to the Morgantown community by handing out blessing bags and diaper bags for those in need.
